InnoWave has been involved in the implementation of technical platforms for the Saúde.Come project; an innovative initiative led by a number of institutions including the Portuguese Society of Rheumatology, NOVA Medical School of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon Catholic School of Business and Economics, Public Health Institute of Universidade do Porto, and a Norwegian university, which aims to provide a better quality of life in Portugal through the promotion of health and well-being.

Lisbon, August 1st 2016- InnoWave has been chosen to execute the Saúde.Come project; an informative program focused toward the promotion of individual health and well-being through the use of television broadcasting and smartphone applications, supported by InnoWave Technologies. The initiative is led by a number of institutions including the Portuguese Society of Rheumatology, NOVA Medical School of Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon Catholic School of Business and Economics, Public Health Institute of Universidade do Porto, and a Norwegian university, and aims to reach participants through new technologies that target audiences based on their social grouping.

"We have developed a TV application for older audiences that focuses on health-related content such as nutrition tips, exercise advice, reminders, and surveys, and is available via the three main local television operators.” Project Manager, Rute Sousa, explains.

This is a choice made reflecting evidence that “what is broadcast on TV holds more influence over elderly audiences” according to Sousa, who further elaborated that by “using this groups tool of choice to promote a beneficial service for them, we are likely to see better results.” By contrast, an interactive website and smartphone applications have been used to direct the same content at younger audiences.

The project was launched in May in order to collect information related to the improvement of public health in general, and with the broader aim to use “these new technologies to bring health awareness and promote physical exercise within the houses of the public” Helena Canhão, principal investigator of Saúde.Come, notes. This mission focuses on healthy, low-cost, and relatable content. "The recipes are inexpensive, and the exercises can be done at home, making it more accessible for all audiences", explained the official.

Tiago Correia, InnoWave Associate Manager expands on this project, explaining that it is “available through the three main Portuguese television operators (NOS, MEO, Vodafone), and utilizes innovative elements from UI-UX, application development and development of a system of notification for the first time.” However, he goes on to describe that the Saúde.Come venture is more than simply a project; “It fills us with pride to be a part of a project with an ultimate goal so significant to our society.”

The single platform provided by InnoWave Technologies feeds the operators, and provides push notifications capacity for STBs; this is a contribution that has been well received, and InnoWave “had a very positive evaluation, showing customer satisfaction with the service” Correia added.
